The Tsum Valley Trek (Adding 2 additional days for Ganesh Himal Base Camp) is a very adventurous trek in the Manaslu region that takes you to the relatively untouched hidden valley of “Tsum” which means “Vivid”. The Tsum Valley is located at the east of Manaslu on the border of Tibet. This isolated valley was open to trekking in 2008 only.

This Permit is required for every trekker trekking in Nepal. The permit can be obtained from Nepal Tourism Board and costs NPR.2000 (USD 15.00 to 16.00)
As the Manaslu region is one of the restricted regions, you need to obtain a special trekking permit to go to this region. This trekking permit is a bit more expensive than other regular trekking permits. Its costs around USD 50.00 to USD 70.00 for the first 7 days in this region depending upon the season you trek. Besides this, you have to pay USD 7.00 to USD 10.00 per day depending upon the season for additional days you spend in this region.
All the permits for this trek will be arranged by your trekking service provider.
Like majority of the treks, Tsum Valley Trek offers you an accommodation in the tea houses with basic facilities. Every Tea house have menu and you can have your own choice. But most of the foods are dominated by the Nepali Dal-Bhat and similar meals.
As this is a Challenging Trek in a restricted area, you need to be well prepared and yet very selective in choosing what you carry with you.

1400m Hotel
Arrive at Kathmandu on day 1. Our representative will receive it at the airport and will drop it at the hotel. If time allows you can explore the city on your own.
Hotel Breakfast
Staying in Kathmandu for all the trek preparation works like obtaining permits for Treks, meeting your guide, and getting a briefing about the trekking. Check your gear and do shopping if needed. We can arrange sightseeing arrangements as per your requirement if interested. In the evening packing for the trek.
890 M Guest House B+L+D
On the first day of the trip, you will leave Kathmandu after breakfast. You will be transferred to Machha Khola via Prithvi Highway. The distance between Kathmandu to Machha Khola is around 7-8 hours’ drive by Bus/Private Jeep. You will be staying at a local guest house at Machha Khola Khola for the night with basic facilities. You will have scenic views of the Trishuli River on the way.
1350 M Guest House B+L+D
After early morning breakfast, you will leave Machha Khola. The distance you have to cover this day will be around 22 KM. This won’t be very hard as you don’t have to gain much elevation. Most of the paths are flat with some slight elevation in some places. You will be walking for around 7-8 hours this day. You will be staying at a local guest house at Jagat for the night.
2240 M Guest House B+L+D
The trek in the restricted area begins from this day. You must have your restricted area permit in hand. From Ekle Bhatti after crossing the suspension bridge at Budhi Gandaki River, the trek to Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit separates. After a total trek of around 7-8 hours, you will reach Lokpa and rest there overnight.
2386 M Guest Hours B+L+D
As usual, after breakfast, you start your trekking from Lokpa. You get to see mesmerizing views of Buddha Himal and Ganesh Himal while Trekking. The total trek time this day will be for around 4-5 hours. You stay at a local teahouse at Chumling overnight.
3030 M Tea House B+L+D
After breakfast, you start your trekking with beautiful views of Ganesh Himal and Buddha Himal. After around 2 hours of walking, you reach Dumje. You rest there for a cup of tea and start walking again. After Dumje, you walk further and reach Gho village and stop for lunch there. After Lunch, you walk further for around 3-3.5 hours and reach your final destination for today, Chhekampar. You rest there for the night.
3360 M Tea House B+L+D
You start your day after breakfast with a beautiful view of Buddha Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Himchuli Himal. On this day, you will walk for around 6-7 hours and reach the Nile and stay there overnight.
4060 M Tea House B+L+D
You will be staying at the Nile only this day for exploring the beautiful Buddha Monasteries. You will be exploring the Mu Gompa and Dhephyudonma Gompa this day. You will be staying at the Nile overnight for the day.
3030 M Tea House B+L+D
On this day, you will be returning to Chhekampar and staying there at a local tea house.
3200 M Tea House B+L+D
As usual, after breakfast, you start your day and start hiking to another Monastery called Gumba Lungdang which lies at an altitude of 3200 M. The today hiking duration for the day will be around 7 hours. You will be walking downhill to Gho Village for 2 hours and an uphill trek for around 5 hours to reach Lungdang. You will be staying at Lungdang overnight.
3670 M Tea House B+L+D
Your journey to Ganesh Himal Base Camp starts early morning with the sunrise after breakfast. You will be walking uphill for around 4 hours to reach Ganesh Himal Base Camp. From there, you can have a beautiful view of the entire Ganesh Himal Range. Anyone willing to stay at Ganesh Himal Base camp overnight should take their camping gear with them. You can climb down to Lungdang the same day which takes around 2-3 hours downhill and stay at Lungdang overnight.
2240 M Tea House B+L+D
After breakfast in the morning, you start trekking downhill. The days will be easy as you will be declining and the path is mostly downhill. You will reach Lokpa after a walk of around 5-6 hours downhill and stay at Lokpa overnight.
Tea House B+L+D
This day, you will be returning to Jagat from Lokpa via the same path you took on day 6. You will be required to trek downhill for around 6 hours to reach Jagat. You will be staying at Tea House at Jagat overnight.
Tea House B+L+D
This will be your last walking day. You will be starting your trek from Jagat to Machha Khola after breakfast and reaching Machha Khola after a walk of around 4-5 hours. You will be staying at a local guesthouse at Machha Khola.
Hotel B+L+D
As your trek has been finished, you will be driving back to Kathmandu.
